Ken and Joyce Roddy hosted the 4th Annual Cookin’ Up Homes for Habitat Fundraiser on April 5, 2008. Celebrity Tim Love cooked up some of his famous Western Cuisine which included smoked brisket, prime short ribs, mushroom gratin, red pepper grits, grilled asparagus and peach and blueberry crisp. At a sponsor reception prior to the event he made gulf crap nachos, smoked pheasant empanadas and rabbit and rattlesnake sausage.
In attendance were approximately 220 people all who seemed to enjoy the event. Proceeds from the event will help build a habitat home in Smith County and give a low income family a chance to own their own home.
